Adult Fitness is a strength
and aerobic conditioning program for anyone wanting to improve their
physical fitness. Studies show that muscle mass decreases by 6%
per decade and is replaced by fat. As life expectancy grows, the
decline in muscle strength with aging becomes a matter of increasing
importance. Cross-training will maintain a balance between
strength and cardiovascular fitness.
|
|
The
program will consist of eight weeks of intense training.
Participants are expected to attend each session for one hour, 3
days a week.
|
|
Pre-
and post-conditioning evaluations are used to show improvements
gained through the program. Adjustments can be made during
the sessions to ensure progress.
|
|
Yes,
participants are required to fill out a health questionnaire.
Personal trainers may request a doctor's physical if there are
any concerns with the questionnaire.
|
|
Increasing muscle development will increase the resting
metabolism which allows the body to burn more calories per day.
If an individual is interested in losing weight, a nutritional
evaluation can be reviewed by the hospital's dietician.
|
|
A
Maintenance agenda will be set up. Participants are urged
to work on those exercises to maintain improvements. The
agenda will consist of exercises that can be performed at home.
Or, for a monthly fee, the Personal Training room may be used,
under the direction of the personal trainer.
|
|
The
cost of the program is $250 for 24 sessions. After the
eight week training period, the Personal Training room will be
available for a monthly cost, under the direction of the
personal trainer. Group rates are available. Prices
are subject to change.
